FREE for Safer Internet Day: The Social Kids Online Adventure
In celebration of Safer Internet Day, Social Kids is opening the doors to our Social Kids Online Adventure. It will be completely FREE for families and schools.
This interactive online course is designed especially for children under 11, giving them the essential knowledge they need to navigate the digital world safely, confidently, and responsibly.
Important note: While the course content was last updated in 2024, the principles, guidance, and digital safety foundations remain timeless and essential for every child growing up online today.
Why the Social Kids Online Adventure Matters
Children are online earlier than ever. They are gaming, watching videos, chatting, and learning. Without any guidance, the digital world can feel overwhelming. Our foundation phase children are often left unsupervised during this time. This is when the bad habits are formed.
The Social Kids Online Adventure uses age-appropriate storytelling, relatable scenarios, and fun characters to teach:
- Online safety basics
- Healthy screen-time habits
- Digital citizenship and online manners
- How to think critically and stay safe online
What the Course Covers
Adventure 1: Being SMART Online
Children learn the right questions to ask online, how to create a positive digital footprint, and why balancing digital play and real-world play matters. This adventure introduces the dos and don’ts of digital safety and encourages open conversations with parents or caregivers about what they experience online.
Adventure 2: Kung Fu Fighting
This journey helps children identify bullying, respond safely, and speak up quickly. They learn how to protect private information, understand what’s safe to share, and develop the habit of thinking before they click, especially when approached online.
Adventure 3: Truth or Dare
Codey shows young adventurers that not everything online is true. Children learn how to check information, understand how the internet and algorithms work, and build confidence in telling their own stories when connecting offline and online.
Adventure 4: I Speak Digital
What do emojis, messages, and online symbols really mean? This adventure explores online manners, digital communication, and safe gaming practices. Children learn when it’s okay to show their true colours and when it’s better to log off.
Adventure 5: Global Surfer
The final adventure brings it all together. Children reinforce everything they’ve learned, gaining confidence to surf the internet safely, recognise online risks, and appreciate the positive opportunities the digital world offers.
